It began with a love of Christmas.
The kind that has me watching for November snowflakes, lingering in the ribbon aisle and looking forward to the first evening when the tree lights make the whole room glow.
What I love most, though, is what the season makes room for: generosity, gathering, familiar rituals and a sense of belonging. The beauty has a purpose. It welcomes us home, invites us to pause and gives us a reason to bring people together.
For some, it’s Christmas. For others, it’s the holidays. There is a common thread in the love we share, the welcome we extend and the time we make for one another. In the middle of busy lives, the season offers a chance to return to home and the people who belong there.
That feeling is what inspired the York Seasonal Stylist.
Based in York Region, I bring seasonal styling to homes, estates and country properties throughout Aurora, King Township, Newmarket and the surrounding communities. Through Ames & Holt, I help create a beautiful welcome from the front porch to the Christmas tree, with thoughtful seasonal touches throughout the home.
My style draws heavily from nature: greenery, botanicals, fresh flowers, organic materials and beautiful ribbon. I’m drawn to classic details and arrangements that feel at home in their surroundings. A thoughtfully styled wreath at the door, a generously filled urn or a tree thoughtfully dressed can change how it feels to arrive home.
And sometimes, having someone take care of those details is part of the gift.
Perhaps your days are full, and you would love to come home one evening to a beautifully decorated tree. Perhaps you know what you like but would appreciate someone who can bring it together. You may have several trees and, this year, want to give your time to something else. Or perhaps, as I have done for my own parents, the pleasure of creating a Christmas tree for those who can no longer manage the decorating themselves.
